PLUS urges travellers to use MyPLUS-TTA to avoid weekend congestion

PLUS expects 2.3 million vehicles daily this weekend and advises using the MyPLUS-TTA digital travel schedule to plan journeys and reduce highway congestion.

KUALA LUMPUR: PLUS Malaysia Berhad anticipates a significant surge in traffic on its highways this weekend as travellers return after the Hari Raya Aidilfitri holidays.

The highway operator forecasts between 2.0 million and 2.3 million vehicles daily from March 27 to 29.

This influx includes both long-distance commuters and intercity travellers heading towards the Klang Valley from major towns.

To manage the expected congestion, PLUS strongly advises the public to plan their travel using the MyPLUS-TTA digital travel schedule.

“Users are strongly advised to adhere to the MyPLUS-TTA digital travel schedule, available via the PLUS application,” the company said in a statement.

Planning return journeys according to these recommended times will significantly assist in alleviating traffic congestion along the highway.

In conjunction with the festive season, PLUS has activated Smart Lanes at 34 strategic locations along its network.

PLUSRonda teams are also conducting 24-hour patrols to provide immediate assistance to highway users.

Facilities at all Rest and Service Areas and laybys have been enhanced to accommodate the higher volume of visitors.

Highway users are reminded to ensure their Touch ‘n Go card and eWallet balances are sufficient prior to their journey.

This is to avoid inconvenience at toll plazas during the busy travel period.

Real-time traffic updates can be obtained via the PLUS application and its Virtual Assistant PUTRI.

Updates are also available on X via @plustrafik and @lpt2trafik, on Variable Message Signs, and through major national radio stations.
