PM Anwar urges Malaysians to reject hatred, embrace empathy

Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim calls for unity and mutual respect this Christmas, highlighting Malaysia’s strength in diversity and the government’s commitment to fair policies.

KUALA LUMPUR: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has called on all Malaysians to strengthen their resolve to reject hatred and foster empathy.

In a Facebook post ahead of Christmas, he said this commitment is vital for maintaining mutual harmony in the nation.

Anwar stated that Malaysia’s strength lies in its unity in diversity, particularly among its multi-religious and multi-racial communities.

The MADANI Government believes harmony is built through fair policies, equal opportunities and a culture of mutual understanding.

“In a world facing economic uncertainty, humanitarian conflicts and social divisions, Malaysia has chosen the path of unity, dialogue and mutual respect,” he said.

Anwar added that true unity is reflected when every citizen is respected, protected and given space to contribute to the country’s future.

He extended his Christmas greetings to the Christian community, hoping the celebration brings peace, harmony and prosperity to all Malaysians.

Christmas is celebrated annually on December 25.
