PM launches Kampung Angkat MADANI to tackle grassroots issues

Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim says the Kampung Angkat MADANI programme helps leaders understand and address poverty, education and local facility problems.

BUKIT MERTAJAM: The Kampung Angkat MADANI programme introduced under the 2024 Budget effectively ensures leaders understand people’s realities and address grassroots issues.

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said all government leaders including ministers, deputy ministers and department heads must each adopt a village to examine poverty, education and local facility concerns.

“When they visit the villages themselves, they will understand the real problems from school children, the poor, to the quality of education,” he said during the Komuniversiti Kolaboratif programme at Cherok Tokun football field.

He said the government introduced the MADANI Sejati Initiative to strengthen community empowerment spirit.

This initiative allows villagers to manage funds allocated directly without ministry bureaucracies.

Anwar said villagers can decide on projects they wish to undertake whether in livestock, agriculture or small businesses.

“Management is conducted by the villagers themselves, with the requirement to maintain transparent accounts and expenditure records,” he said.

“This approach reflects the ‘caring for the people’ spirit under the MADANI Government concept, which is not just about meeting the rakyat but also giving them space to choose and manage their own future.”

The Komuniversiti Kolaboratif programme organised by Universiti Sultan Azlan Shah Kuala Kangsar collaborated with the Malaysian Islamic Economic Development Foundation.

It provided opportunities for over 100 university students to contribute to the Cherok Tokun community.

Activities during the three-day programme included gotong-royong, Forum Perdana, Fun Run, Rahmah sale and health screenings. – Bernama

Alfa Romeo Marks the Quadrifoglio Legacy with Exclusive Giulia and Stelvio Collezione Models

Alfa Romeo has introduced two highly exclusive creations, the Giulia Quadrifoglio Collezione and Stelvio Quadrifoglio Collezione, developed in tribute to one of the brand’s most enduring icons — the Quadrifoglio. The emblem, first painted onto Ugo Sivocci’s Alfa Romeo RL when he won the 1923 Targa Florio, became the mark of the brand’s racing machinery for decades. In 1963 it shifted from the circuit to the road with the Giulia Ti Super, and from then on it distinguished Alfa Romeo’s most powerful and exclusive road-going models. That pivotal year forms the inspiration for this new Collezione series, which has been limited to just 63 units worldwide. Two Giulia units have been earmarked for the UK, while the rest will be distributed across Europe, the Middle East, China and Japan.
