Amanah is considering whether to postpone its leadership election scheduled for next year, with discussions set for the party’s national meeting.

SHAH ALAM: Parti Amanah is studying whether to postpone its top leadership election scheduled for next year.

Party president Datuk Seri Mohamad Sabu confirmed the matter will be thoroughly discussed at the upcoming national-level meeting.

“There is a provision in the party’s constitution that allows for the postponement of the election,” he said.

Sabu added that the party needs to consider the election mood when making the decision.

He spoke to reporters after the winding-up session of the Amanah National Convention 2025 here today.

Earlier media reports indicated the election motion drew significant attention on the convention’s second day.

The atmosphere became slightly tense when several delegates urged immediate debate on the motion. – Bernama
