BN pledges new women’s ministry and RM600 aid for Sabah

Barisan Nasional promises a Sabah women’s ministry and RM600 i-Suri incentive for housewives if given mandate in state election.

LIBARAN: Barisan Nasional has committed to establishing a Sabah Women, Family and Community Development Ministry if given the mandate in the 17th state election.

Sabah UMNO Information chief Datuk Suhaimi Nasir described the proposed ministry as a “game changer” in elevating women’s living standards.

“The establishment of this ministry is a real revolution for Sabah women,” said the Sungai Sibuga candidate. He emphasised this was not just an election promise but a strategic move to change the state’s social and economic landscape.

Suhaimi expressed confidence that BN could bring about real social transformation through this initiative. He believes it will help build a more inclusive, progressive and competitive Sabah society.

The ministry would also drive comprehensive social development policies focusing on women, children and families’ wellbeing.

BN additionally plans to introduce a RM600 i-Suri incentive for housewives, widows and single mothers. The coalition will implement training and skills development programmes to help women master entrepreneurial, technological and modern job skills.

Polling day is set for Saturday.
