KDM to contest 40 seats in upcoming Sabah state election

Parti Kesejahteraan Demokratik Masyarakat will field candidates across 40 constituencies in the November 29 Sabah state polls

KOTA KINABALU: Parti Kesejahteraan Demokratik Masyarakat (KDM) will contest 40 seats in the 17th Sabah state election scheduled for November 29.

KDM deputy president Datuk Wetrom Bahanda announced the party’s extensive participation during its candidate unveiling ceremony here today.

Acting KDM president Priscella Peter also attended the event where 39 candidates were officially introduced.

Wetrom confirmed the candidate for Kemabong (N43) will be announced tomorrow, completing the party’s full slate of 40 contenders.

The party will field candidates across multiple constituencies including Bengkoka, Pitas, Matunggong, and Bandau.

Other contested seats include Tandek, Pintasan, Tempasuk, and Kadamaian in the party’s broad electoral strategy.

Pantai Dalit, Tamparuli, Kiulu, Darau, and Inanam also feature among the 40 constituencies targeted by KDM.

The party’s candidates include Rahim@Richard Mazagi for Bengkoka and Abdul Hamid Kimin for Pitas constituency.

Wetrom Bahanda himself will contest in Matunggong while Jaiping Minsu stands in Bandau.

Benson Tuyundo, Datuk Almudin Kaida, and John Samud complete the northern Sabah candidates for the party.

Dr Gaim James Lunkapis, Henry Soimpon, and Nordin Thani represent KDM in central Sabah constituencies.

George Guntarik, Adelaide Cornelius, and Suarah@Segarah Miasin will contest urban seats around Kota Kinabalu.

Dr Edwin@Jack Bosi, Mckery Victor Ninin, and Malik Luman complete the party’s candidates in the Penampang and Papar regions.

The party’s southern Sabah representation includes Datu Mohamad Datu Tamin, Peter Matinjal, and Mohd Ariffin Barhim.

KDM’s interior candidates comprise Abd Jarih Okin, Sani Maisin, and Jattry Abie @Jeffry Mohd Ali.

Karim Adam, Rusdin@Musidi Riman, and Jaikol Tagua will contest in the party’s heartland areas.

Niklos Ongoh, Peter Paun, and acting president Priscella Peter complete the party’s interior representation.

Eastern Sabah candidates include Aisat Ellik Igau Iggau, Jelerison Kilan, and Nilis Joseph.

Marx Henry Lim, Chew Kok Woh, and Liau Fui Fui represent the party in Sandakan region constituencies.

Datuk Poon Ming Fung, Abu Bakar Ellah, and Ricky Hong Chee Kiong complete the party’s 40-candidate lineup. – Bernama
