Pahang UMNO sends 100 members to assist BN in Sabah state election

Pahang UMNO deploys 100 members to support BN’s campaign in Sabah polls, focusing on Beluran and Kinabatangan districts with potential for more assistance

KUANTAN: Pahang UMNO will deploy 100 members to assist Barisan Nasional’s election machinery for the upcoming Sabah state election.

State UMNO chairman Datuk Seri Wan Rosdy Wan Ismail said the number could be increased if necessary to strengthen campaign operations in targeted areas.

“This is our tradition in Barisan Nasional and UMNO,” he told reporters at the Town Hall Pahang 1st Lecture Series held at the Pahang Foundation Complex.

“Whenever there is a state or by-election, other states will also go down to the ground to help ensure the victory of BN candidates.”

He said Pahang UMNO’s assistance will focus on Beluran district, covering Telupid, Sugut and Labuk constituencies.

In Kinabatangan district, support will extend to Kuamut, Lamag and Sukau constituencies.

Wan Rosdy added that Pahang UMNO will also send about 20 students from Sekolah Patriotik UMNO to join the mission.

He said this provides exposure to the country’s democratic process for the young participants.

The Election Commission has set November 29 as polling day for the 17th Sabah State Election.

Nomination day is scheduled for November 15 with early voting on November 25. – Bernama
