PKR deploys 3,000 field members for Sabah election campaign

PKR’s 3,000 field team members will conduct grassroots engagement in Sabah, having already reached over 200,000 residents since May

KOTA KINABALU: Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) has mobilised 3,000 field team members for grassroots campaigning in constituencies it will contest during the Sabah state election.

PKR vice-president Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari said the party machinery has been active since May, reaching over 200,000 Sabah residents by September.

“These field teams do not only meet among themselves, but also reach out to the people to find and identify the sentiments of the community, their interests and their priorities,” he said.

Amirudin noted most residents expressed support for the Unity Government and PKR in the upcoming polls.

He spoke at the PKR Public Assembly and Sabah State Election Candidate Announcement Session officiated by party chairman and Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.

The event featured prominent PKR leaders including deputy president Nurul Izzah Anwar and vice-president Datuk Seri Ramanan Ramakrishnan.

Also present were secretary-general Datuk Dr Fuziah Salleh, information chief Datuk Fahmi Fadzil, and Sabah State Leadership Council chairman Datuk Mustafa Sakmud.

Anwar announced 10 PKR candidates who will contest in the state election during the assembly.

The field teams will conduct door-to-door engagements to understand community priorities ahead of polling day. – Bernama
