Strategic direction and reforms boost confidence in national policies

Finance Minister II Amir Hamzah says the Prime Minister’s announcement on strategic direction and institutional reforms strengthens confidence in national policies, aligning with the MADANI Economy framework.

KUALA LUMPUR: The Prime Minister’s announcement on strategic direction and institutional reforms further strengthens confidence in national policies, said Finance Minister II Datuk Seri Amir Hamzah Azizan.

He said the announcement aligns with the MADANI Economy framework, focusing on sustainably enhancing national revenue.

It also aims to strengthen governance through legislation and provide more efficient public services.

This includes adopting artificial intelligence and digitalisation to streamline processes and reduce bureaucracy.

“Next is improving the status of the people through better social protection networks such as the Sumbangan Tunai Rahmah (STR), Sumbangan Asas Rahmah (SARA), and Early Schooling Aid,” he told Bernama and RTM.

He added this includes inclusive economic empowerment for the MSME sector and the bumiputera community.

Amir Hamzah was commenting on the Prime Minister’s 2026 New Year message delivered at a monthly assembly.

He said this new direction can be achieved due to political stability and a ‘whole of nation’ approach.

This involves close cooperation between federal and state governments, the people, industry players, civil servants, and all stakeholders.
