Rawang Perdana temple statue relocation completed peacefully

Police confirm the overnight relocation of four statues from a Rawang temple proceeded smoothly without incident, with the landowner now clearing the site.

RAWANG PERDANA: The relocation of statues from the Sri Uchimalai Muniswarman Temple proceeded smoothly overnight under police supervision. Selangor police chief Datuk Shazeli Kahar confirmed the operation was completed without any untoward incidents.

The process began at 9.30 pm and concluded at 4.12 am this morning. A total of 10 individuals, comprising temple devotees and management representatives, carried out the relocation of all four statues.

The situation was closely monitored throughout by the Royal Malaysia Police. Following the completion of the relocation, the landowner began cleaning works at the temple site early this morning.

Shazeli reminded all parties to continue respecting existing legal channels and to refrain from taking matters into their own hands. He stated such actions could undermine racial and religious harmony in the country.

He urged that any disputes be resolved in accordance with procedures set by the local authorities and the lawful landowner. The police will also closely monitor the spread of information on social media.

Stern warnings will be issued against the dissemination of content touching on sensitive 3R issues. These issues, concerning religion, race, and the royal institution, have the potential to trigger public unease.
