Sabah GLCs and statutory bodies must submit quarterly reports to Hajiji

Sabah’s GLCs and statutory bodies must submit quarterly performance reports directly to the chief minister from next year, with leadership positions under review for non-compliance.

KOTA KINABALU: Sabah Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor has ordered all state government-linked companies (GLCs) and statutory bodies to submit quarterly performance reports directly to him from next year.

He said the reports must be submitted by the Chief Executive Officers, Group General Managers and General Managers of the respective entities.

“This initiative aims to ensure that the State Government receives timely and accurate information on project progress, financial standing, service effectiveness and overall achievements,” he said in a statement.

He added that this step is crucial for monitoring the performance of each entity.

Hajiji stressed that the positions of any leader who fails to submit the reports, does not meet Key Performance Indicators, or demonstrates unsatisfactory performance would be reviewed.

This review includes the possibility of transfer or termination.

He urged all leaders to set clear and measurable KPIs aligned with their organisations’ mandates.

“All projects, initiatives, programmes and expenditures must comply with professional governance standards, including financial integrity, implementation transparency and accountability to the people,” he stressed.

Hajiji noted that each GLC and statutory body in Sabah has different objectives, with some being profit-oriented and others focused on social services.

“All entities remain responsible for demonstrating high levels of commitment, efficiency and integrity,” he said.

He stated that every appointed leader must contribute responsibly to help drive Sabah’s development as expected by the people and government.

“With more structured monitoring and more accountable management, the Sabah Maju Jaya 2.0 agenda can be implemented more effectively and deliver direct benefits to the people of Sabah,” he said.
