TUARAN: The Rural and Regional Development Ministry will repair and build 100 new houses in each state constituency in Sabah under the Rakyat Sejahtera Housing programme next year.
Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi said this demonstrates the Federal Government’s commitment to Sabah’s development.
Sabah received RM136.02 million in PPRS allocations covering 852 new housing units and 2,729 repair projects.
The Tuaran parliamentary constituency specifically received RM6.591 million for 43 new units and 123 repaired units.
Ahmad Zahid announced this during the Sentuhan Kasih Desa @ Tuaran programme launch at Pusat Latihan RELA.
He described Sentuhan Kasih Desa as an initiative to empower rural entrepreneurs through sales promotion and market access.
His ministry has significantly transformed rural development in Sabah through substantial Federal Government allocations.
“Sabah’s allocation in Budget 2026 next year is bigger than other states,” he confirmed.
The Federal Government through KKDW and other ministries remains deeply concerned about resolving Sabah’s issues. – Bernama
