Sabah’s special grant decision among key topics in Parliament today

Parliament to discuss rationale behind not appealing Sabah’s 40% revenue grant ruling, plus police credibility and urban parking policies.

KUALA LUMPUR: The Federal Government’s rationale for not appealing the Kota Kinabalu High Court’s ruling on Sabah’s Special Grant will be a key discussion point in Parliament today.

According to the Order Paper, Datuk Mohd Shahar Abdullah will seek the Prime Minister’s clarification on this decision and its implications during Ministers’ Question Time.

He will specifically question the grant calculation based on 40% of net revenue.

During the same session, Syed Ibrahim Syed Noh will ask the Home Minister about court decisions regarding Amri Che Mat and Pastor Raymond Koh’s cases.

He will inquire about government steps concerning police investigation SOPs and credibility.

Datuk Dr Zulkafperi Hanapi will question the Prime Minister about challenges facing traditional villages under the Kuala Lumpur Structure Plan 2040.

His query will cover land ownership, basic amenities, density, and development pressure concerns.

He will also ask about the government’s strategic approach to preserve these villages’ identity and continuity.

Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail will question the Prime Minister about urban planning policy effectiveness.

She will specifically address the requirement for two parking bays per residential unit in dense Kuala Lumpur areas.

Datuk Shamshulkahar Mohd Deli will ask the Youth and Sports Minister for updates on Malaysia’s 2025 SEA Games preparations.

His questions will cover athlete and coach numbers plus the overall medal target.

Following question time, the Dewan Rakyat will continue debating the Supply Bill 2026 at committee stage.

This parliamentary meeting is scheduled to run for 35 days until December 4. – Bernama
