Sarawak police will station 700 officers at accident hotspots from Dec 23-28 to ensure traffic flow and compliance during the Christmas period.
KUCHING: Sarawak police will conduct a statewide road safety campaign from December 23 to 28 in conjunction with Christmas celebrations.
Commissioner Datuk Mohamad Zainal Abdullah said 700 officers and personnel from various branches will be deployed for the operation.
The campaign aims to raise public awareness on road safety and legal compliance to reduce accident rates across the state.
Personnel will be stationed at selected locations identified as accident hotspots to monitor traffic flow.
“We would like to remind all motorists to obey traffic rules and instructions from enforcement officials on duty throughout the festivities,” Mohamad Zainal said in a statement.
He warned that stern action will be taken against anyone found violating traffic regulations during the festive period.
