Sinkhole forces temporary road closure on Jalan Dato Ismail Hashim

A sinkhole has appeared on Jalan Dato Ismail Hashim in Bayan Lepas, prompting emergency works and a road closure for public safety.

GEORGE TOWN: A sinkhole has opened up on Jalan Dato Ismail Hashim in Sungai Ara, Bayan Lepas, leading to the immediate temporary closure of the road.

Penang Infrastructure, Transport and Digital Committee chairman Zairil Khir Johari confirmed that the Public Works Department has been dispatched to conduct emergency mitigation works.

He stated that these measures are essential for the safety of all road users and that no injuries have been reported from the incident.

Zairil advised all motorists to remain extremely cautious when navigating the vicinity and to strictly follow directions from traffic personnel and on-site workers. – Bernama
