BUKIT MERTAJAM: Entrepreneur and Cooperatives Development Minister Steven Sim has contributed RM100,000 to Sekolah Menengah Agama Al-Ahmadiah Al-Ijtimaiah.

The funds will be used to procure five smart boards for the 129-year-old religious school, benefiting its 168 students.

Sim, who is also the Bukit Mertajam MP, said the initiative aims to keep the institution relevant amid rapid technological advancements.

“The adoption of modern technology will also help ease teachers’ workload and create a more interactive and contemporary learning environment,” he said.

He announced that three additional smart boards will be contributed next year to fully equip all classrooms.

During a visit to the school in Padang Lalang, Sim received briefings from management on other needs to improve education quality.

Last year, he contributed RM60,000 for a Smart TV project and learning equipment for the school’s Islamic kindergarten.
