Deputy Prime Minister Ahmad Zahid Hamidi praises Sultan of Pahang’s focus on Orang Asli rights and rural development, calling it a catalyst for inclusive empowerment.
KUALA LUMPUR: Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi has expressed deep appreciation for the Sultan of Pahang’s recent address on rural and Orang Asli welfare.
In a Facebook post, Ahmad Zahid said Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah’s speech reflected the Sultanate’s unwavering commitment to prioritising the people’s well-being.
The Rural and Regional Development Minister stated that the royal focus on issues like water supply, village gazettement, and basic facilities demonstrates truly people-centred leadership.
He added that this consistent attention serves as a powerful catalyst for more inclusive rural empowerment efforts.
“His Royal Highness’ continued attention to the development of the Orang Asli community and the preservation of their rights and well-being strengthens our resolve to empower rural communities comprehensively and sustainably,” Ahmad Zahid said.
During a visit to the Kampung Paya Badak water pump project in Temerloh, the Sultan had stated the project is proof the Orang Asli community in Pahang has not been marginalised.
His Royal Highness affirmed that various initiatives are being implemented to enhance infrastructure and improve welfare for rural communities, particularly the Orang Asli.
