Technology must shape young girls’ character responsibly: Wan Azizah

Dr Wan Azizah urges responsible technology use to develop girls’ identity, empathy and moral values amid AI advancements.

KUALA LUMPUR: Technology must be used responsibly and ethically, particularly in shaping the character and resilience of young girls, said Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail.

The Prime Minister’s wife, who is also President of the Girl Guides Association Malaysia (PPPM), said technological advancements including artificial intelligence should be harnessed for noble purposes.

“Advancements in technology today must be used for noble purposes,” she said during the launch of the 109th PPPM anniversary celebration.

“We cannot afford to fall behind. While artificial intelligence holds great potential, it must be managed responsibly.”

She emphasised the responsibility to ensure Girl Guides develop strong identity, balanced growth, high empathy and uphold noble character and Eastern values.

Dr Wan Azizah also reminded parents and guardians to stay vigilant about children’s online activities amid rising unethical technology use.

“Let us all monitor our children’s social media use, not to restrict their freedom, but to prevent negative issues from arising,” she said.

During the ceremony, she launched the Young Women’s Advocacy Group as an important initiative providing a platform for young girls to voice concerns and champion key issues.

“Through this advocacy group, we aim to nurture young female leaders who are courageous, knowledgeable and capable of shaping the nation’s future with wisdom,” she said.

She also launched the Girl Guide Cookies 2025 initiative to encourage entrepreneurship and self-reliance among young members.

Present at the event were PPPM Deputy President Datuk Tengku Shireen Tengku Suleiman, Chief Commissioner Datuk Yeoh Soo Keng, and leaders from all 18 state branches. – Bernama

Alfa Romeo Marks the Quadrifoglio Legacy with Exclusive Giulia and Stelvio Collezione Models

Alfa Romeo has introduced two highly exclusive creations, the Giulia Quadrifoglio Collezione and Stelvio Quadrifoglio Collezione, developed in tribute to one of the brand’s most enduring icons — the Quadrifoglio. The emblem, first painted onto Ugo Sivocci’s Alfa Romeo RL when he won the 1923 Targa Florio, became the mark of the brand’s racing machinery for decades. In 1963 it shifted from the circuit to the road with the Giulia Ti Super, and from then on it distinguished Alfa Romeo’s most powerful and exclusive road-going models. That pivotal year forms the inspiration for this new Collezione series, which has been limited to just 63 units worldwide. Two Giulia units have been earmarked for the UK, while the rest will be distributed across Europe, the Middle East, China and Japan.
