Malaysia positioned to lead regional innovation and digital transformation

Deputy PM Fadillah says Malaysia is poised to lead regional innovation through MADANI framework, with technology serving humanity and uplifting communities

KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia is positioned to lead the region in innovation, digital transformation, and talent development through the Malaysia MADANI framework.

Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof stated the framework ensures technology serves humanity rather than replacing human values.

“Technology must serve humanity,” he said during the Selangor Techsphere Summit 2025 launch.

“It must uplift communities, broaden opportunity, and strengthen values, not replace them.”

Fadillah emphasised that Malaysia seeks progress that is innovative, inclusive, and sustainable rather than pursuing modernity alone.

The Energy Transition and Water Transformation Minister stressed that innovation must be accessible to all Malaysians beyond laboratories and boardrooms.

“It must belong to every Malaysian, the students, the entrepreneurs, the engineers, the educators, the problem solvers and the dreamers,” he said.

He praised the Selangor government and Selangor Technical Skills Development Centre for creating platforms connecting industry, academia, and global partners.

Selangor Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari described the inaugural summit as a launchpad for new opportunities and partnerships.

“Selangor welcomes the world to experience our commitment to advanced manufacturing, clean technology and the growth of skilled talent,” he said.

The two-day summit gathers over 2,000 delegates from more than 20 countries including ASEAN, China, Japan, South Korea, Europe, and the Middle East.

Global exhibitors include Siemens, Mercedes-Benz, KNX, Festo, and other leading innovators in advanced technology.

The event marks Malaysia’s accelerated transition toward an advanced manufacturing and technology-driven economy.

This transformation is driven by automation, robotics, artificial intelligence, smart factories, 5G systems, and sustainable industry frameworks. – Bernama
