MetMalaysia predicts rain and thunderstorms in several Sabah areas during state election nomination day, with 1.78 million voters eligible
SABAH: The Malaysian Meteorological Department forecasts rain and thunderstorms across several areas during nomination day for Sabah’s state election.
Paitan, Telupid, Sandakan, Kinabatangan, Lahad Datu, Kunak, Semporna, Tawau and Kalabakan are expected to experience rain.
Kudat, Pitas and Beluran districts are forecast to have thunderstorms during the nomination period.
Tuaran, Kota Kinabalu, Putatan, Penampang, Tambunan, Beaufort, Membakut and Kuala Penyu will see cloudy conditions.
Kota Marudu, Kota Belud, Papar, Ranau, Tongod, Nabawan, Keningau, Sook, Sipitang and Tenom can expect sunny weather.
Candidates will file nomination papers tomorrow between 9am and 10am for 73 state seats.
The campaign period will run for 14 days until 11.59pm on November 28 after nominations are confirmed.
A total of 1,784,843 voters are eligible to participate in this state election.
This includes 1,760,417 ordinary voters, 11,697 armed forces personnel and spouses, and 12,729 police personnel and spouses. – Bernama
