Rapid Kuantan bus service will cease operations on Dec 14 after 12 years, with Bas.My Kuantan taking over under APAD supervision.

KUANTAN: The Rapid Kuantan bus service will cease operations on December 14 after 12 years of service.

Rapid Bus Sdn Bhd announced that stage bus operations in Kuantan will be taken over by Sanwa Tours (M) Sdn Bhd, operator of Bas.My Kuantan.

The transition will be supervised by the Land Public Transport Agency (APAD) to ensure continuity of public bus services in the city.

Throughout its service period, Rapid Kuantan transported more than 28 million passengers.

The service averaged approximately 6,000 passengers daily, peaking at over 15,000 passengers per day.

Rapid Bus expressed appreciation to the Pahang government, local authorities, strategic partners, and Kuantan residents for their continuous support.

“We at Rapid Bus hope the public will continue to support and use the Bas.My Kuantan service under the management of Sanwa Tours,” said acting CEO Ku Jamil Zakaria.

He noted that community support has been crucial in strengthening Malaysia’s public transport system.

Starting December 15, inquiries about Bas.My Kuantan operations and schedules can be directed to APAD.

The agency can be contacted via email at [email protected] or by calling 03-2603 6700. – Bernama
