A man was arrested for breaking windows at the US Vice President’s unoccupied Ohio residence, with Vance calling the suspect a “crazy person”.
WASHINGTON: A man has been arrested for vandalising the personal residence of US Vice President JD Vance in Ohio.
Officials confirmed the overnight incident at the property in Cincinnati on Monday.
“As far as I can tell, a crazy person tried to break in by hammering the windows,” Vance said in a post on X.
He added that his family was not home, having already returned to Washington DC.
The US Secret Service stated the unidentified man was arrested for causing property damage, including breaking windows.
“The man was physically detained by Secret Service agents assigned to the Vice President’s home,” the agency said.
It confirmed the residence was unoccupied during the incident.
“The Vice President and his family were not in Ohio,” the statement added.
No further details about the suspect or potential motives were immediately released.
