IOWA CITY: Police are investigating a shooting that left multiple people injured on the University of Iowa campus early Sunday morning.
The Iowa City Police Department stated that officers responded to a report of a large fight just before 2:00 am local time and heard gunfire upon arriving at the scene.

The University of Iowa issued emergency alerts telling people to avoid the area near College and Clinton streets, a popular nightlife spot in the heart of the college town.
University officials confirmed there were victims in the incident but did not provide additional details on casualties.
No arrests have been made in connection with the shooting, according to a statement from Iowa City officials.
This incident adds to the long history of gun violence on US school and university campuses, where firearms are readily available.
