President Jokowi: Human resources key to realising Golden Indonesia 2045

JAKARTA: President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) (pix) affirmed that the development of human resources constitutes the key to realising the vision of Golden Indonesia 2045, reported ANTARA news agency.

The president made the statement in his opening remarks for the 2023 National Working Meeting of the Indonesian Islamic Dawah Institute (LDII) and the inauguration of the Minhaajurrosydiin Multipurpose Building in Jakarta on Tuesday.

“We will face even tougher challenges going forward. However, I am optimistic about us being successful in realising it (Golden Indonesia 2045 vision) by developing the character of our human resources. God Willing,“ he remarked.

President Jokowi drew attention to several challenges currently faced by the global community, namely global economic uncertainties, climate change, and war raging in several countries.

He, nevertheless, expressed optimism that Indonesia would be able to face and survive the tough challenges by maintaining a strong sense of unity.

“Hence, I have repeatedly said that the years 2024, 2029, and 2034 serve as decisive moments for Indonesia to decide to leap forward or not, thereby necessitating strong national leadership, strong unity, and strong cohesiveness,“ he emphasised.

The head of state opined that strong leadership at the national level is paramount for Indonesia to be able to overcome global challenges.

“To translate the Golden Indonesia 2045 aspiration into reality, this country requires national leadership that unites, national leadership that embraces everyone for the sake of fostering cohesiveness and solidity,“ he affirmed.

Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture Muhadjir Effendi, Defence Minister Prabowo Subianto, and Trade Minister Zulkifli Hasan accompanied President Jokowi during the activity.

Commander of the Indonesian Defence Forces (TNI) Admiral Yudo Margono and Chief of the National Police (Polri) General Listyo Sigit Prabowo also attended the meeting. –Bernama
