Trump pledges permanent migration pause from ‘Third World Countries’

Donald Trump announces plan to permanently halt migration from ‘Third World Countries’ and review Biden-era asylum approvals and Green Cards.

WASHINGTON: President Donald Trump announced his administration will work to permanently pause migration from all “Third World Countries”.

Trump made the declaration on his Truth Social platform without specifying which nations he considered third-world.

“I will permanently pause migration from all Third World Countries to allow the U.S. system to fully recover,” he stated.

The plan includes terminating millions of immigration cases approved under former President Joe Biden’s administration.

Trump specifically mentioned ending “Biden illegal admissions, including those signed by Sleepy Joe Biden’s Autopen”.

He pledged to remove anyone not considered “a net asset to the United States”.

The president said he would end all federal benefits and subsidies for noncitizens.

He also vowed to “denaturalize migrants who undermine domestic tranquility”.

Trump promised to deport foreign nationals deemed public charges, security risks, or “non-compatible with Western civilization”.

The announcement followed the shooting death of a National Guard member near the White House.

Investigators say an Afghan national carried out the ambush attack.

Department of Homeland Security officials earlier confirmed Trump ordered a widespread review of Biden-era asylum cases.

The review also covers Green Cards issued to citizens of 19 unspecified countries.

U.S. government files show the alleged gunman received asylum this year under Trump’s administration.

U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services indefinitely stopped processing Afghan immigration requests on Wednesday.

“These goals will be pursued with the aim of achieving a major reduction in illegal and disruptive populations,” Trump said.

Neither the White House nor USCIS immediately responded to Reuters’ requests for comment. – Reuters
