The US has expanded duty-free access for over 200 Peruvian goods, including 100 agricultural products like avocados and coffee, boosting Peru’s exports
MEXICO CITY: The United States government has expanded duty-free access for Peruvian goods, exempting over 100 agricultural products from reciprocal tariffs.
Peruvian Minister of Foreign Trade and Tourism Teresa Mera announced the expanded list of products that can now enter the US market without tariffs.
“More than 200 new products will be able to enter the market duty-free, and about 100 of them are part of our agricultural export basket,” Mera told TV Peru.
The newly exempted agricultural items include avocados, coffee, cocoa, mangoes, ginger, lemons, oranges, and natural fruit juices.
These specific products generated approximately US$1.2 billion in export revenue for Peru in 2024.
They accounted for 24% of Peru’s total shipments to the United States last year.
Mera emphasised that increasing and diversifying exports of value-added products is becoming an important government focus.
She noted that Peru’s exports to the US actually increased from January to September 2025.
