MINNEAPOLIS: Stephen Curry scored 26 points to lead the Golden State Warriors to a 111-85 victory over the Minnesota Timberwolves.
The game was overshadowed by upheaval in Minneapolis following a recent federal immigration crackdown.
Curry climbed into a tie for 19th on the NBA’s career scoring list despite connecting on just seven of 18 shot attempts.
He made all nine of his free-throws and added seven assists for the Warriors, who led virtually all the way.
The contest had been postponed from Saturday after federal agents shot and killed a US citizen in the city.
“You definitely felt the weight of the city,” said Golden State forward Moses Moody, who scored 19 points.
Warriors coach Steve Kerr said he felt the home team were “suffering” amid a sombre atmosphere.
Anthony Edwards scored 32 points for the Timberwolves, who lost their fifth straight game.
Elsewhere, the Toronto Raptors handed the league-leading Oklahoma City Thunder a second straight defeat, 103-101.
Immanuel Quickley fueled the Raptors with 23 points and 11 rebounds in their fourth consecutive win.
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander scored 24 points for the Thunder, who still own the NBA’s best record at 37-10.
Zion Williamson and Saddiq Bey scored 24 points apiece as the New Orleans Pelicans beat the San Antonio Spurs 104-95.
Victor Wembanyama scored 16 points for the Spurs, who erased a large deficit but could not complete the comeback.
Two games were cancelled due to a historic winter storm pounding the United States.
The Memphis Grizzlies’ home game against Denver and the Milwaukee Bucks’ game against Dallas were both called off.
Cade Cunningham scored 29 points with 11 assists as the Detroit Pistons routed the Sacramento Kings 139-116.
