James also passed Reggie Miller for sixth place on the NBA’s all-time regular season three-pointers list with two successful shots from beyond the arc.

Luka Doncic led the Lakers with 37 points and welcomed James’ return to the lineup.

“It’s been a long time since he played basketball, so I think for the first game back, he looked amazing,” Doncic said. “He’s gonna keep getting his rhythm, and he’s gonna help us a lot.”

Austin Reaves contributed 26 points while Deandre Ayton added 20 for the Lakers.

Utah led by 11 points during the second quarter before the Lakers exploded for 37 points in the third period to take control.

De’Aaron Fox scored 20 of his 26 points in the second half while Harrison Barnes added 23 points for the Spurs (10-4).
