Leg-spinner Ravi Bishnoi has been named as his replacement for the five-match T20 series, which begins on January 21.

Sundar’s injury now places his participation in next month’s T20 World Cup in India and Sri Lanka in doubt.

He was named in India’s World Cup squad last month and faces a race against time to recover.

The BCCI also announced that batsman Shreyas Iyer will join the squad for the first three T20Is.

Iyer replaces the injured Tilak Varma.

New Zealand’s squad is currently in India for three ODIs and five T20Is as a final preparation for the global tournament. – AFP
