Arsenal’s 10-match winning run halted by Sunderland’s late equaliser, while Man Utd salvage draw at Tottenham and Chelsea ease past Wolves

ARSENAL’S 10-game winning streak across all competitions ended dramatically as Brian Brobbey’s stoppage-time equaliser secured Sunderland a 2-2 draw against the Premier League leaders.

Former Arsenal defender Dan Ballard broke the deadlock with a powerful 36th-minute finish at the Stadium of Light, ending the Gunners’ run of eight consecutive clean sheets.

Bukayo Saka levelled with a composed finish in the 54th minute before Leandro Trossard smashed Arsenal ahead from the edge of the area in the 76th minute.

Arsenal appeared set for an 11th straight victory until Brobbey stabbed home from Ballard’s header in the fourth minute of stoppage time.

“We conceded two similar goals, which is not good enough for ourselves,” Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta said.

The draw marked Arsenal’s first failure to win since their 1-1 draw with Manchester City on September 21.

Arsenal maintain a six-point lead over second-placed Chelsea, who defeated Wolves 3-0 at Stamford Bridge.

At the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, Bryan Mbeumo fired Manchester United ahead in the 32nd minute amid growing discontent among home supporters.

Tottenham responded after halftime with Mathys Tel equalising in the 84th minute before Richarlison’s deflected shot from Wilson Odobert put them ahead in the 91st minute.

United defender Matthijs de Ligt powered in a 96th-minute header to salvage a 2-2 draw and extend his side’s unbeaten run to five matches.

“We have so much to grow as a team because today was our day to win,” United boss Ruben Amorim said.

Tottenham manager Thomas Frank added: “A lot of things we could have done a bit better.”

Chelsea responded to recent criticism with Malo Gusto scoring his first professional goal after halftime against Wolves.

Joao Pedro doubled the lead before Pedro Neto completed the 3-0 victory, Chelsea’s fourth win in their last five league games.

West Ham boosted their relegation battle with a 3-2 win against fellow strugglers Burnley at the London Stadium.

Burnley took the lead through Zian Flemming in the 35th minute before Callum Wilson equalised and Tomas Soucek put West Ham ahead.

Kyle Walker-Peters’ 87th-minute goal proved crucial despite Josh Cullen’s late consolation for Burnley.

Everton ended a three-game winless run with a 2-0 victory over Fulham at the Hill Dickinson Stadium through Idrissa Gueye and Michael Keane. – AFP
