The Bukit Jalil National Stadium pitch has earned an excellent 86% rating under FIFA’s quality programme for natural playing surfaces.
THE pitch at the Bukit Jalil National Stadium has achieved an excellent rating from FIFA.
The home ground of the Harimau Malaya scored 86% under the FIFA Natural Playing Surfaces Quality Programme.
Malaysian Stadium Corporation (PSM) chief executive officer Iliyas Jamil (pic) said the rating was awarded last week following tests in October.

“This is the first time we have undergone a FIFA rating exercise after it was proposed by PSM board of directors member Datuk Windsor Paul,“ he said.
He noted that an excellent rating requires a score of more than 85%.
Iliyas said the rating recognises the tireless efforts of PSM staff to maintain the pitch despite various concerts being held at the venue.
“With the SOP we developed internally, we have managed to keep the grass in good condition,“ he added.
He highlighted that the expertise used to maintain the playing surface is 100% local.
