FIFA and TikTok sign a preferred platform deal for the 2026 World Cup, promising more live streams, clips, and exclusive creator access.
GENEVA: FIFA has announced a new partnership with TikTok to enhance coverage of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The “preferred platform agreement” aims to position TikTok as a central hub for fans and creators throughout the tournament.
FIFA stated the deal will lead to an enhanced level of collaboration and integration.
It will allow TikTok to offer more comprehensive World Cup coverage, including increased original content.
Under the new partnership, TikTok will be able to livestream selected portions of World Cup matches.
The platform will also publish more curated clips and access special content produced by FIFA specifically for it.
For the first time, FIFA will launch a creator programme for a select group of global TikTok creators.
This programme will grant them behind-the-scenes access during the tournament, including to press conferences and team training sessions.
The two organisations previously collaborated on the 2023 Women’s World Cup.
FIFA said that tournament generated tens of billions of views on TikTok.
