KRW FC clarifies it is not liable for former assistant coach Pol Corpas’s unpaid wages, attributing a FIFA transfer ban to a misdirected claim.
KOTA BHARU: Kelantan Red Warriors FC has denied any involvement in a salary arrears claim lodged by former assistant coach Pol Corpas with FIFA.
The club stated that Pol Corpas, who served during the 2022/2023 season, should seek outstanding wages from his former club’s management.
“KRW FC, which was established in 2024, is clearly not involved in the issue,” the club said in a statement.
It added that FIFA had accepted its official explanation, previously allowing the club to register players for the current season.
The issue resurfaced when KRW FC sought to register new import players during the second transfer window.
This led to FIFA imposing a transfer ban on the club from December 19.
“This sanction followed a report by Pol Corpas and his lawyer, who attempted to link KRW FC to his former club,” the statement explained.
KRW FC emphasised that its current management took over in August 2025 and is entirely separate from the previous administration.
The club urged supporters to obtain official information from it regarding the viral issue of the FIFA ban.
It also called for continued unwavering support for the team until the end of the season.
