Former Arsenal midfielder Matteo Guendouzi is set to join Turkish club Fenerbahce from Lazio in a reported €30 million transfer deal.
ISTANBUL: Former Arsenal midfielder Matteo Guendouzi (pic) is set to join Fenerbahce from Lazio.
The 26-year-old French international is reportedly moving for a fee of €30 million on a five-and-a-half year deal.
Fenerbahce confirmed the advanced negotiations in a social media statement.
“We are continuing talks with France player Matteo Guendouzi and his club regarding his transfer,” the club said.
The 19-time Turkish champions added that the player had been invited to Istanbul for medical examinations.
Guendouzi spent two seasons at Arsenal between 2016 and 2018 before spells at Hertha Berlin and Marseille.
He moved to Lazio in 2023 and has earned 14 caps for the French national team.
His new club currently sits second in the Turkish Super Lig, three points behind leaders Galatasaray.
