PSG’s empty team bus was stoned outside a Bilbao hotel after a Champions League draw; two arrests made and club may file a complaint.
BILBAO: The Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) team bus was attacked with stones outside the squad’s hotel in Bilbao following their Champions League match.
A source close to the French club confirmed the incident occurred during the night after Wednesday’s game against Athletic Bilbao.
The bus was unoccupied and parked at the time of the attack.
Media reports indicated the coach sustained two visible cracks from the impact.
Two individuals were arrested in connection with the incident.
The PSG playing squad and staff were unharmed and travelled to the airport for their scheduled Thursday morning flight to Paris.
The club is now considering filing an official complaint over the attack.
The incident followed a 0-0 draw between the two sides in the Champions League qualifying league.
The result left PSG third in the 36-team standings, while Athletic Bilbao are 28th. – AFP
