Selangor FC beat Kelantan TRW 2-1 in the Malaysia Cup round of 16 after a last-minute winner from striker Muhammad Faisal Abdul Halim.

SELANGOR FC secured a dramatic 2-1 victory over Kelantan The Real Warriors FC in their Malaysia Cup round-of-16 first leg.

The match was decided by a last-gasp injury-time winner from Selangor’s sensational striker Muhammad Faisal Abdul Halim.

Kelantan TRW had taken an early lead at the Sultan Muhammad IV Stadium through Alexander Lyngbo in the 25th minute.

Muhammad Faisal levelled the score for the visitors with a goal in the 60th minute of the second half.

He then completed his brace and secured the win with a decisive goal deep into added time.

The result gives Selangor a slight advantage ahead of the second leg at Petaling Jaya City Council Stadium on Jan 23.

In another Malaysia Cup fixture, Terengganu FC defeated UM-Damansara United 2-0 at UM Arena Stadium.

Brazilian striker Careca opened the scoring for TFC after just five minutes.

The second goal came in the 78th minute from an unfortunate own goal by the UM-Damansara United captain.

He deflected a Terengganu free-kick into his own net to confirm the 2-0 win for the visitors.

The second leg for that tie will be played at Sultan Mizan Zainal Abidin Stadium this Friday. – Bernama
