Terengganu FC aims for home win to close Super League first round

Terengganu FC targets three points against Sabah FC in their final first-round Super League match to solidify a top-five league position

TERENGGANU FC (TFC) are determined to secure three points in their final first-round Super League match against Sabah FC tomorrow night.

The match will be held at the Sultan Mizan Zainal Abidin Stadium (SSMZA) in Kuala Nerus.

Head coach Badrul Afzan Razali said a recent victory over Immigration FC has boosted his squad’s morale.

He stated the match is crucial to close the round with a win in front of home fans.

“It is also a farewell gift for imported midfielder Nurillo Tukhtasinov, who will return to Uzbekistan at the month’s end,” he added.

Badrul Afzan wants his players to maintain the winning momentum from their previous match.

“My main focus is to maintain TFC’s position in the top five,” he told Bernama.

He said collecting three points is essential to distance themselves from other chasing teams.

The coach also expressed relief that several key players are recovering from injuries.

He said Muhammad Azam Azmi Murad and Muhammad Ubaidullah Shamsul Fazili could be available to strengthen the defence.

“We are aware that Sabah is a strong team and they have proven it by becoming FA Cup finalists this season,” he noted.

Badrul Afzan warned his team not to take their opponents lightly despite Sabah’s recent loss.

He emphasised the need for focus and discipline to secure the points from the match.
