Former Belgium winger Thorgan Hazard rejoins Ligue 1 side Lens until 2028, bringing Champions League experience to the squad.

FORMER Belgium forward Thorgan Hazard has agreed a return to Lens on a deal until 2028, the French Ligue 1 club announced on Monday.

Hazard, the younger brother of fellow former Red Devils forward Eden, came through the northern club’s academy before joining his sibling at Chelsea.

Thorgan, 33, joins Lens after three years at Anderlecht having spent time with Borussia Moenchengladbach and Borussia Dortmund as the club make it back to the Champions League having pushed Paris Saint-Germain in last season’s Ligue 1 title race.

“This experience of the highest level is an asset for the team as we return to the Champions League,” sporting director Jean-Louis Leca said with Lens playing in the competition for the first time since 2023/2024.

“I felt during the conversations with him how attached he is to Lens and his desire to wear the Lens colours in the Champions League,” Leca added.
