Malaysia’s men’s 4x100m freestyle relay team clinched bronze at the SEA Games Thailand 2025, maintaining their podium streak from 2023
THE national men’s 4×100 metre freestyle relay team secured a podium finish for the second consecutive SEA Games edition by winning bronze.
The quartet of Khiew Hoe Yean, Arvin Shaun Singh Chahal, Lim Yin Chuen and Terence Ng Shin Jian clocked 3 minutes 20.87 seconds at the Sports Authority of Thailand Swimming Pool.
Swimmer Arvin Shaun Singh expressed relief at helping Malaysia remain on the podium despite not retaining their 2023 silver medal.
“I can’t complain. A medal is a medal. It’s good to just get another medal added to the cabinet,” he said.
Singapore successfully defended the gold medal and broke their own Games record with a new time of 3:16.65 seconds.
Vietnam secured the silver medal after finishing with a time of 3:20.01 seconds.
In the men’s 50 metre butterfly event, national swimmer Bryan Leong finished fifth with a time of 24.55 seconds.
Singapore’s Teong Tzen Wei won gold in that event with a time of 23.24 seconds.
The swimming competition at the SEA Games Thailand 2025 concludes tomorrow.
The multi-sport event is being held from December 9 to 20 across Bangkok and Chonburi provinces. – Bernama
