The Olympic Council of Malaysia welcomes the new minister and deputy, pledging to work closely to advance high-performance sport and athlete development.
THE Olympic Council of Malaysia (OCM) has pledged close cooperation with the newly appointed Youth and Sports Minister Dr Mohammed Taufiq Johari and his deputy Mordi Bimol.
The council welcomed their appointments following a cabinet reshuffle.
OCM stated its intention to forge a strong collaborative partnership with the new leadership.
“This partnership will be instrumental in advancing high-performance sport, athlete development, good governance and in sustaining Malaysia’s success and presence on the international sporting stage,” the council said.
OCM president Tan Sri Mohamad Norza Zakaria extended his congratulations to both appointees.
“We look forward to working closely with both leaders to drive the national sports agenda forward, strengthen athlete pathways and further enhance the Olympic Movement in Malaysia,” he said.
Mohamad Norza also expressed appreciation to the outgoing minister Hannah Yeoh and deputy minister Adam Adli Abdul Halim.
He thanked them for their commitment and collaborative relationship with OCM since assuming office in 2022.
“The steadfast support provided by Hannah for the Olympic House project will always be remembered and recorded as an important milestone for the Olympic Movement in our country,” he said.
