KUCHING: Sarawak has allocated RM350 million for preparations for the 2027 Southeast Asian (SEA) Games.
State Minister of Youth, Sports and Entrepreneur Development Datuk Seri Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah said the funding covers 17 sporting events and the opening ceremony.
He stated the allocation will fund promotional initiatives, committee training, and sports equipment to meet technical standards set by the Southeast Asian Games Federation.
“Stadium Sarawak will host the 2027 SEA Games Opening Ceremony, highlighting the state’s capability and providing a platform to showcase its culture, unity and progress,” he said.
