Selangor Red Giants beat Aurora Gaming Turkiye 3-2 in a thrilling upper bracket semifinal to reach the MLBB M7 World Championship final.
JAKARTA: Selangor Red Giants (SRG) secured a spot in the upper bracket final of the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB) M7 World Championship after defeating Turkiye’s Aurora Gaming Turkiye 3-2.
In the upper bracket semifinal at Istora Senayan Indoor Tennis Stadium, SRG started on the back foot by losing the opening match.
The squad bounced back in the second game with an impressive comeback to level the series. Aurora regained the lead by winning the third match, but SRG delivered another strong performance to tie 2-2 in the fourth match, forcing a decider.
In the fifth and final game, SRG displayed calm and organised gameplay to clinch a 3-2 victory.
“What Aurora showed today was very different, and it felt like they had cards they were waiting to show against us,” said SRG player Michael Angelo ‘Arcadia’ Bocado.
“In the games we won, we were able to read how they wanted to play the early game and adjust quickly so they could not snowball faster.”
SRG is set to face either Aurora PH or Indonesia’s Alter Ego from the other upper bracket semifinal.
SRG’s best performance in the MLBB World Championship came in M6, where they finished in third place.
