This is Erwin’s second Southeast Asia Championship title after also emerge victorious in the 2024 edition held in Bangkok, Thailand.
NATIONAL squash prodigy Erwin Kros continues his fine form after capturing the 2026 Southeast Asian Junior Individual Championship in the Philippines today.
In the final match, the 17-year-old defeated home player Inigo Jordan 11-4, 11-4, 11-7 in a 31-minute clash at the National Squash Centre in Manila.
Erwin said working with national coaching director Andrew Cross had helped him become a champion again after winning the Under-17 category in 2024.
“I am pleased with the consistency of the game results achieved. The new gameplay technique that I recently adopted has proven effective in delivering improved finishing outcomes.
“I am thankful for the constant communication with Coach Andrew on planning and preparing me for each game plan during the tournament,” he said.
The Subang-born player showed impressive composure throughout the four-day tournament where he also faced huge challenge in the semifinal against Thailand No 1 Teeratas Asavareongchai.
However, his skills and experience helped him defeat the opponent 11-4, 11-3, 11-4 in a 18-minute match.
“Before leaving to Manila, Coach Andrew told me to make it happen again without dropping a single game and I joyful that I manage deliver it again,” he added.

It was also Erwin’s third title this year after successfully winning the Sri Lanka Junior Open in February and the Tashkent PSA Satellite in Uzbekistan last month.
He will next focus on delivering a strong finish at the Penang Junior Open in July 2026.
