Midea Malaysia enters record books with simultaneous launch of 18 brand stores, unveiling SMART MASTER
MIDEA MALAYSIA has made history by simultaneously launching 18 brand stores across the country, earning recognition from the Malaysia Book of Records for “Most Electrical Appliance Outlets Launching In An Event” on December 3.
The unprecedented nationwide rollout includes 15 new Midea brand stores, two Midea Pro-Shops, and one refreshed Kuala Lumpur showroom, marking a transformative expansion that takes the company’s physical retail presence from zero to 18 locations in a single event.
A New Benchmark in Retail Expansion
The simultaneous launch event featured a synchronized nationwide countdown, with all 18 stores unveiling their storefront signboards at the exact same moment. The historic reveal was broadcast live across all locations and streamed on Midea Malaysia’s Facebook page, showcasing the unity and scale of the brand’s retail network expansion.
“Launching 18 brand stores simultaneously is more than an expansion – it transforms how customers engage with Midea,” said Mark Tam, managing director of Midea Malaysia.
“With more touchpoints across the country, Malaysians can now experience our smart home solutions in person, consult directly with our specialists, and access reliable after-sales support closer to home.”
Tam emphasised that the rollout reflects the strong momentum Midea has built in recent years and positions the company to compete more effectively in Malaysia’s rapidly growing home appliance market.
Introducing SMART MASTER: The Future of Intelligent Home Living
Coinciding with the store launches, Midea unveiled its innovative SMART MASTER product series to the Malaysian market, offering attendees their first glimpse of the brand’s vision for connected home experiences.
The SMART MASTER series represents a comprehensive suite of intelligent technologies embedded across Midea’s appliance range. These AI-powered, IoT-enabled products are designed to understand, adjust, and respond intelligently to user needs through advanced sensors and machine learning capabilities.

The launch ceremony began with an on-screen introduction of all 18 brand store owners, followed by a video presentation previewing the SMART MASTER series. After Mark Tam’s keynote address, plaque presentations were conducted for the 17 brand stores located outside Kuala Lumpur.
The Kuala Lumpur headquarters showroom celebration featured traditional lion dance and firecracker performances, synchronized with festivities at all 18 locations nationwide. The event also included a ribbon-cutting ceremony and the official presentation of the Malaysia Book of Records certificate, with Jwan Heah, Chief Operating Officer of Malaysia Book of Records, in attendance.

The milestone expansion underscores Midea’s dedication to enhancing customer experience through modern retail spaces aligned with its new corporate identity, while strengthening product accessibility across Malaysia.
Looking ahead to 2026, Midea is targeting an ambitious growth trajectory of approximately 20%, driven by rising demand for energy-efficient and smart-home solutions in the Malaysian market.
