Sunway Malls launches Galloping Into Prosperity campaign for Chinese New Year 2026 across 11 malls
SUNWAY MALLS has launched an ambitious Chinese New Year campaign titled “Galloping into Prosperity” across its network of retail destinations, marking the Year of the Horse with bold installations, cultural performances, and community-driven celebrations.
The month-long festival, officially launched on January 13, 2026, at Sunway Velocity Mall, reflects the symbolic energy and forward momentum associated with the horse in Chinese tradition. The campaign brings together heritage and contemporary design across 11 operating malls, each presenting unique interpretations of prosperity and renewal.
A Grand Launch Ceremony
CEO HC Chan officiated the launch alongside senior general managers representing Sunway Malls’ regional divisions. The ceremony featured a symbolic moment where Central Managers collectively held Golden Prosperity Keys to unlock prosperity for the year ahead, accompanied by cascading confetti and illuminated mall logos.

At the heart of the event stood the Living Shan Shui Horse Painting, a kinetic art installation representing the Chinese concept of turning great fortune. As the artwork rotated, traditional rotating lanterns came to life, symbolizing continuous flow of good fortune.
Adding dramatic flair to the festivities, 15 supercars including red Ferraris, Porsches, and Mustangs encircled Sunway Velocity Mall, drawing parallels between the speed and confidence of these vehicles and the spirit of the Year of the Horse.

Cultural Performances and Workshops
The launch showcased Malaysia’s multicultural heritage through a dynamic performance sequence. Indigenous Borneo instruments opened the showcase, followed by Indian dhol drums and Malay kompang, concluding with traditional Chinese instruments. The convergence represented unity in diversity and collective pursuit of prosperity.
Lion dance performances by Wan Seng Hang Dragon & Lion Arts, led by master craftsman Siow Ho Phiew, brought traditional vitality to the celebration. A special lion costume craftsmanship display near The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf offers visitors educational insight into this intricate art form.
Guests also participated in exclusive DIY Auspicious Knot Home Hanging Decoration workshops, creating keepsakes symbolizing good fortune and harmony.
