Five years ago, actress Charlize Theron played the titular character Furiosa in Mad Max: Fury Road to critical acclaim.
To celebrate her iconic role five years later, Theron participated in a special drive-in movie screening of Fury Road and channelled the proceeds to The Charlize Theron Africa Outreach Project (CTAOP).
CTAOP champions young people in Africa by investing in organizations that prioritize and advance health, education and community support for youths. During the pandemic, CTAOP partnered with Entertainment Industry Foundation and CARE to launch a campaign to fight againt gender-based violence called Together for Her.
On July 31, 2020, the actress also shared a flashback video which showed her shaving off her legendary hair to assume the role of Furiosa years back.

Will there be another Furiosa prequel in the works? Director George Miller says yes but it will not star Theron. The role will be assumed by an actress two decades younger than Theron.
Looks like we might be watching how Furiosa become the tough warrior she is. The new actress has big shoes to fill.
