eGate system disruption at Sultan Iskandar Building persists, affecting foreign passport holders. Manual and QR counters operational to ease congestion.
JOHOR BAHRU: The recurring eGate system disruption at the Sultan Iskandar Building (BSI) has not yet been resolved.
The Malaysian Border Control and Protection Agency (AKPS) BSI branch stated operations remain under control, with Malaysian citizens unaffected.
In a Facebook post, the agency confirmed the issue only involves foreign passport holders.
Foreign travellers can use designated eGates at the Incoming Bus Hall (Gates 19-22) and Outgoing Bus Hall (Gates 5-8).
The Immigration Department and AKPS are actively conducting repairs and continuous monitoring.
To reduce congestion, AKPS advised foreign visitors to download the MyNIISe application to use QR code counters.
Manual counters are also available as alternatives.
The agency urged the public to comply with guidelines and give way to those in need for comfort and safety.
The technical disruption yesterday caused long queues for tens of thousands of foreign nationals at BSI and the Second Link.
Border control operations continue as usual with limited impact.
