A Malaysian and Hong Kong production collaboration is underway with the upcoming action film Black Ops, scheduled for a cinema release by the end of 2026.
The film brings together Malaysian production companies Skop Productions, Enotech, Astro Shaw, Komet Studios, Marvelous Culture & Film and GSC, alongside Hong Kong-based One Cool Films, founded by actor Louis Koo. It marks One Cool Films’ first collaboration with a Malaysian production.
Black Ops is directed by Syafiq Yusof and co-directed by Chui Tze Yui from Hong Kong where the two joined creative forces are hoped to launch Malaysian films to international levels. The project features a cast from both countries, including Sharnaaz Ahmad, Benjamin Yuen, Hisyam Hamid, Andy Teh, Datuk Aaron Aziz, Fauzi Nawawi and Elizabeth Tan. Other cast members include Anding Indrawani, MK K-Clique, Raja Afiq, Ken Law, Sean Lin and Rania Amanda.

The film centres on Johan, an elite operative who is framed for the murder of his wife while his daughter goes missing. Branded a fugitive, he is forced to evade his own unit as he attempts to uncover the truth behind the case.
Action sequences are overseen by stunt directors Ken Law and Sean Lin. Law is based in Hong Kong and has worked extensively on action choreography, while Lin is a member of Hung Ga Ban, the stunt team founded by Sammo Hung. Both are involved in designing the film’s combat and stunt work.

Skop Productions chairman and executive producer Datuk Yusof Haslam said he hoped the film would connect with local audiences.
“I am a huge fan of Jackie Chan movies and have never missed one, which is why I insisted that we collaborate with a Hong Kong production team so that our local films can achieve a standard like theirs. This film is not just entertainment, but an experience we hope stays with viewers,” he said.

One Cool Films director and Black Ops co-producer Tang Wai But said the collaboration marked the beginning of a working relationship between Malaysian and Hong Kong film producers.
“This project represents an opportunity for both industries to work together and learn from one another,” he said.
Astro Shaw head and co-executive producer Raja Jastina Raja Arshad said the project builds on Astro Shaw’s ongoing partnership with Skop Productions and extends it to an international level.
Filming details and release dates are expected to be announced at a later stage.
