Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim demands immediate investigation into fatal air-conditioning gas blast at HELP University, offers condolences to victim’s family.
KUALA LUMPUR: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has called for an immediate and comprehensive investigation into a fatal air-conditioning gas explosion at HELP University.
In a post on X, Anwar said the probe is necessary to ensure the safety of all parties involved.
He extended condolences to the family of the late Soo Yu Juan, who died from injuries sustained in the blast last Monday.
“Condolences to the family of the late Soo Yu Juan on the loss of your beloved child,” Anwar said.
He also wished a full recovery to the injured, including Reeya Kaur Thandal, who remains hospitalised.
Soo, a 24-year-old third-year Mechanical Engineering student at Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman, passed away while receiving treatment at Kuala Lumpur Hospital.
Nine others were injured in the explosion at the private university around 11.40 am.
