White House dismisses impact of European troops in Greenland on President Trump’s stated goal of acquiring the territory for the United States.
WASHINGTON: The White House stated that a meeting between US officials and representatives from Denmark and Greenland had been productive.
White House spokeswoman Karoline Leavitt warned that sending European troops to Greenland would not affect President Donald Trump’s thinking about the territory.

“I don’t think troops in Europe impact the president’s decision-making process, nor does it impact his goal of the acquisition of Greenland at all,” Leavitt told a briefing.
Trump, a Republican, has previously said Greenland should belong to the United States.
He has not ruled out taking the territory by force. – Reuters
